I've been collecting Lord of the Rings miniatures from Harlequin for a few years now. They aren't the greatest sculpts but there's a certain charm to many of them. I've only painted up a few of them, but thought I could share them here. This is not my best photography, so you may be seeing them again with better lighting. (and focus.)

First off we have Barliman Butterbur.

Next up is Radagast the Brown. I love this version of the character.

Here's Bilbo Baggins. I should have used a smaller base, but I try to use the larger bases for all my major character figures.

Then there's Frodo. (He definitely needs a better picture.)

Finally we have two characters whose names escape me. (I know this is a sacrilege.) First is this guy from Gondor.

and here's a guy from Rohan. (At least that's how I painted him.)

Please let me know what you think.

Really nice work on those, I think the Radagast figure is better than the old GW one. I don't know the names of the two last characters, it's just that there's so many possibilities. Is the last one Éomer, by any chance?
Also, where did you buy these?

I think these were some of the best LOTR produced and it was a real shame they lost the licence partway through the range. I didn't like the more "celtic" look of the Riders of Rohan, but it was an original take. The orcs were the best I've ever seen, straight from Ian Miller's paintings in A Tolkien Bestiary. Some of the range are available from Scotia Grendel or via Second City.

Great paintjobs by the way :)

Is Gondorman Beregond?

Nice colouring - I love Frodo's striped trousers! And yes, Harlequin's Radagast beats the old GW model, which is a good sculpt but a little... characterless, I think.

If only you'd showed that Radagast figure to Peter Jackson we'd all be so much happier...

They look excellent.  I haven't painted any of mine yet, I am still trying to complete my collection of the range  :?

I know Scotia Grendel have the moulds now and are slowly producing them  http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=221_222_46_203.  No characters though but I have managed to get all of them.

Boromir.

Eomer.

Assuming I spelled those correctly.

Great paint jobs, I never knew that Halrequin even had a LOTR range. I think the sculpts are great with lots of character; I personally like Radagast best, everything about the paint job is fantastic including the owl.

Post them up again with some sharper pics,

Very nice painting indeed and lovely details like Bilbo's vest and Frodo's striped trousers.
Gondor guy is Beregond btw, I have that figure too.

State of the art or not, the minis all have a TREMENDOUS amount of personality. Your FINE brushwork has brought that out WONDERFULLY...the COOL bases add to the effect nicely. GREAT WORK!

Strange the range seems to have dissappeared from Black Tree Design?

Cracking jobs.

Here are those improved photos. I checked and that is indeed Beregond. I still haven't tracked down the card the Rohan guy was on, but it was definitely not a major character. I've had a hell of a time finding a list of the LOTR figures that were released by Harlequin. There are a couple more waiting in the wings to be painted, and I have a whole bunch of Harlequin Orcs waiting to be re-based. Those are my second favorite orc models ever, falling right behind Grenadier's Orcs of the Severed Hand, and ahead of the Otherworlds Pig-Faced Orcs.
