Starting on my LAM/Ratnik Dwarves
« on: January 29, 2013, 07:37:29 PM »
Hi folkes!

2013 has started and so I started with some dwarves from Ratnik ... hope You like it.

Where there is one dwarf ... more will follow!

Some are already in my "final-brushstroke" pipe.

I am really pleased with these little buggers! They bring some flair of the good old GW-days. Very individual, very grumpy, very toothy and very unique in itself. ^^
Love it! Thanks to Ratnik and LAM for making and selling them!

best wishes
DK

PS
I am not yet sure, what to do with the shields ... so, they have to wait yet.
best wishes

The Vertically Challenged Lads are WONDERFUL little characters. Your SUPERB brushwork captured every ounce of personality in the minis. VERY WELL DONE!

Thanks for the nice comments! I need to work on my background scenery, though. Also - according to my mailbox ^^ - I should work on the yellow-ish ... ness? in the pix.
Usually I do prefer to pix them in the sunlight, but these were made in the evening in the room ... killer. And since my DC is getting more and more ... deranged ... I need a new one anyway, cause with the macro there are not many options to choose from.

Next wave coming ^^

The background more "whiter", I just switched off on of the lamps. But as You can see, it is that lamp, which lights up the other side. However ... I do not like to pix them with a flash, so I didn't.

say "Cheese"

Yesterday I added some glaze of pink/violett/purple to the faces, but I am still not quite familiar with this technique

And my hornblower ... named ... Horatio Hornblowerson  :D

Well, from close up, its noticeable that I am a wee bit out of practice. However, I am quite pleased with them. I keep the other dwarven ladies for the last. To savour the moment. ^^

Lovely again, Thomas. And as I've already seen your paintwork in flesh I am quite sure that the photos surely don't do them justice.

Great touch with the rock base for the horn blower, btw!

The little Warband is growing ... and I tried a different aproach to the pix ^^

However ... I think, the best pix I had with my cam, so far, where always made in the open on a bright sunny day, for sure not directly in the sun, though.

Thanks for Your comments and PNs, they are as always and ever highly appreciated!

best wishes

PS
and I reeeeally need to get back into painting again ... sadly so, but it is NOT like cycling  :'(
