Some sort of mechincal bicycle? Or a motorcycle?
Yearly painting challenges only show me how useless I am at painting...

I want to try and stay away from wheeled vehicles as the army relies on walkers. I'm thinking about using Grundback Blaster from Warmachines http://privateerpress.com/warmachine/gallery/mercenaries/warjacks/grundback-blasters

Try searching for "Corporal Trotter" here on the LAF
It's one I converted from one of those Warmachine grundback models might help you with a little inspiration

that's cool
where is the rider from?

as to suggestions: I was particularly fond of the Star Wars walker mounts and somehow copied them with 40K sentinels, removing the cabin and setting up a shield in front of the rider, but this might be a bit too large
