Last evening the forces of Her Majesty Queen Victoria (Gaud Bless 'Er) Empress of India, Venus and Mars came under attack from native Sky Martians at an encampment 40 miles due west of New Victoria on the plains of Kaa-Nas-Ookta. Unfortunately the garrison was mostly put to the sword. The only survivors able to escape the massacre were the driver and remaining crew of the Belborough Industries transport vehicle Matilda and Captain Roger Boyes, 1st Btn Grenadier Guards Impervious Suits Division. Although gravely wounded Captain Boyes was able to hide inside the wreckage of his Impervious Suit until the Martians had looted the camp.
Captain Reginald Auffley-Keene of the 10th Bhurpa Rifles, along with a few of his brave Sikhs, were last seen retiring from the fighting in a rallying square apparently making for high ground towards the north of the camp. Their whereabouts is still unknown..
The camp at Kaa-Nas-Ookta
The feared Raas Ak Naa clan move at a frightening speed across the plain towards the camp.
Another as yet unknown clan follows closely behind them.
The alarm is raised and the Naval Brigade rush from their tents.
Captain Roger Boyes struggles to get his Impervious suit started as the Martians rush the barricades.
The Martians hurl themselves upon the Captain, despite the onslaught he manages to throw them off.
But they come again, this time he is wounded as his suit crashes to the ground.
Captain Auffley-Keene orders the Bhurpa rifles into action
They pour volley after volley of disciplined rifle fire into the Martians but they cannot stop the onslaught
They are forced to retire through the tent lines and make a fighting withdrawl from the field
The Martians now turn their attention towards the Naval Brigade.
Surrounded they fix bayonets and are eventually cut down
