Gaul Defence Tower from Asterix and the Caldron
« on: October 09, 2021, 09:46:47 PM »

the latest issue of Miniature Wargames (463 October 2021) has this article showing how I built an Asterix inspired tower my wargame table. The model is an almost direct copy of the illustration in the comic book and was built from corrugated cardboard, egg box card, DAS modelling clay and uses plastic card and real wood for the lift off roof.

For more information, see the Blog or pick up the magazine.

Nice job, that.
I've only just discovered paper as a modelling medium, and this affirms it even more.

Got my issue Yesterday and loved the article and all of the others that you have done.

Always liked Asterix as a kid.

Thank you.

I have already sent an e-mail to John (the editor of MW) saying how much I enjoyed the Asterix puns in the article. These were added by John.

I love it and may have to copy it for my village. :-*

Ah yes, the one from Editions Atlas. I had it all at some point, including the roman camp and battlefield, but I sold it after upgrading to the 28mm Pixi village. :)

Both collections are discussed in the Asterix miniatures showcase I did many years ago: http://wk.frothersunite.com/sc/asterix/asterix.htm
