Hello !

Quote
One question: how do you get the blue foam sheet around the tubes? Whenever I've tried this, the foam just breaks up into pieces Cry

Hum it's a green polystyren ;)

it's a sheet of 3mm polystyren used as soundproofing material for parquet (i can show you a link but it's in French : http://www.castorama.fr/store/Sous-couche-pour-parquet-et-stratifie-PRDm548439.html

it's very flexible, and doesnt broke when you get it around tubes :)

Now the WIP of 3 towers :

A lot of work, the towers needs to be the same because they'll  be removable and exchangeable with another type of tower...

finally the fortress will be on a base of 120cmX120cm  and the table 180x180cm.

it's just the beginning :p and my english is not enought good to explain you now all the details :)

That's a sturdy looking entrance LapinRouge. A fine ediface as always!

Do you scale down the board size to make the castle more playable? I just noticed that...

Cheers
Matt.

Hello,

Indeed, the problem is the fact that the castle has to be playable, so i adapte as far as possible the size of the elements.

I build this castle with a plan supplied by the customer, so it's very difficult to follow  the plan while keeping the playability.

Let's go for the Donjon !

You can easy imagine the final aspect wich is the Caesar Tower at Provins in France (Tour César in French).

Soon, the end of the entrance and a rond tower with walls !

Only just found this thread. Your work is breathtaking. Your amazing skills at creating the castles is  actually surpassed by your superlative painting of them. The variety of basic colours you pick for your stonework alone is inspirational, but then the actual detailed painting the weathering, the variation of colour within each type of stone is pure genius. Hope this thread continues for a long, long time.

Merci! Je ne parle pas beaucoup de Francais, mais je peux comprendre cette! Ce n'est pas comme blue foam ;)

Hi,

thank you for comments, that motivate me a lot ! :)

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask, i'll answer as best i can.

i'll show you the finissions of the Donjon with "Plastiroc" a kind of clay with some plastic property...  Perfect to finish details and repair error :p

in order, with Plastiroc and without :

When this part of the work will be finished, i'll pass at the woodwork (doors, ground and beams for the roof). And i'll finish with the roof (and painting of course).

A stylized entrance will be realised at the base to show the wealth of the owner ;)

Hi !

Up with the making of the base and its pits anti-undermines

The cut part is kept because it will be used to fill pits to satisfy the playability

There will be a bridge also removable to allow to choose between the bridge or the filled pit.
