now I guess how Your jewish Gangsters look like would depend of what exactly You want to game.
I am pretty sure that any kind of prohibition era gangster would want to blend in with the surroundings.
To be honest, I can hardly imagine the cliche Chassidim type running a brothel or trafficking booze.
Maybe gambling....

If I understand Your VBCW background, the closest match would be the Haganah in Palestine. I Am pretty sure You might find some well documented source on these armed jews, start here:

then, if You want Your fraction to be religious, they could have a rabbi adviser, and a decent style could be yarmulke and tzitzit or payot on some. Otherwise they might look like riligeous zealots..

Well, Gateshead has had an Orthodox community since the 1830s, when they moved from nearby Newcastle because everyone there was 'slack', as my neighbour used to say (she meant Reformed). The biggest yeshivah in Europe is there. These days, the Jews in Gateshead (my dad was told) are regarded by many other British Jews as 'like the Jewish Taliban'. They look like this:



though this photo is actually from New York. If I saw those guys (except Michael Blomberg) on the streets of Gateshead I'd be totally unsurprised.

I'm not thinking that they will actually be 'Jewish gangsters' - as you say Hasidic brothels aren't very likely, and Britain never had prohibition anyway, we didn't do that bootleg booze thing. No, the reason they'll exist in my VBCW game is that the town where they live has been taken over by the Fascists, so this Jewish group has fled and is in uneasy alliance with the local Socialist militia, attacking the Fascist positions on the edge of town. But in the photo of the Talmudic School, there seems to be a strong sense of 'ganster chic (1930s style)'. It's pretty easy to get that kind of mini, obviously - doesn't necessarily mean they have to be used as 'gangsters' of course!

Anyway, I only wanted to offer the idea that You use something that actually existed in that time for a not so different context..

Sgt Major Miniatures make a pack of armed Jews, in their Get Some Pulp line. They don't look great on the photo, but I suspect the paintjob is not doing them justice.

I don't know, I only have a pair of Orangutans from them and I don't know how they compare to the rest of their miniatures.
