Great, great project.   :)

I too have wanted to do a floating island thing, and stuff like this offers tips and hints as to how to resolve some problems. Thanks for posting.

Hey Doc,

What did you use for the roots ? I have two of my own started (very early stages) and need to camouflage the sticks I used to hold up the island.

Awesome! Sorry for the late reply. I used a wire hanger to hold up the rocks because I could bend them and make them look more organic. I then used sinew cut and stripped down to different lengths and wrapped that around the wire. I also dangled some of the thread from the bottom of the rocks. To also aid in masking, I glued bits of flock to the roots/vines.

fantastic job. makes me think of avatar and minecraft combined. as if they ran at each other really fast !  :o :o lol do you have any other projects in the works?
