We incorporated the characters into a recent game. Magua was an officer

Longrifle  and the Two Mohicans were a separate unit, all counted as Indians and Officers so they got they extra move in forward boys.

They had rifles, could be taploaded to fire as muskets if necessary, and had +1 to hit on shooting - basically they missed at short range on a 1.

Melee misses were rerolled.

Morale - did not have any - they were the Last of The Mohicans

This may seem uber powerful as a unit but they can be killed like any other man and thee were only three of them.

@Eric,

That sounds like a good idea, will try it out in our next game - thanks for the suggested unit profile  :)

Chingachgook, the old man of the trio. I tried to paint him to look older but not like a senior citizen.
Initially I wanted the skin to be darker than on the younger Uncas, but working back and forth with different tones I settled for pretty much the same. Though the pose of the miniature isn't as "combat ready" as Hawkeye and Uncas I still really like this sculpt.

More pictures of him alone and standing next to the other miniatures of the blister already painted up can be found over at my blog:

A small tutorial, basically what materials I use, for "woodland basing". I use this mix on all my F&IW miniatures:

A Redoubt Miniatures officer I painted up to get a feel for the Redoubt sculpts that I will be reviewing tomorrow, I also wanted to have a painted up miniature for the size comparison shots which will be part of that review.

I put together a review of Redoubt Miniatures over at my blog, it was something that I got questions about since I began posting my latest stream of French & Indian War related entries. I also made sure to take size comparison pictures with Perry, Conquest and Front Rank so you can see how the ranges differ in size and style.

You should give our very own Galloping Major's range a go, too. They are in the Redoubt/Front Rank area of scale.

The two kids from the Perry Miniatures civilian blister, great sculpts and full of character. Will be used as civilians for our Muskets & Tomahawks games.

Oh I like those- very nice minis.

I use Redoubt and I have just bought Galloping Major. As far as I can tell the two manufactures are exactly the same scale. I have measured the length of a musket, and it is almost exactly the same too. Sculpting wise, from the models I have seen Redoubt are slightly chunkyer, but not to any great extent.
