I've been out of historical WWII modeling for over a decade.  I can't remember what was distinctive about the Kriegsmarine that you'd need a conversion set?

I was referring to the DFG Kriegsmarine models from the first kickstarter for metal infantry models.

They have a different helmet, backpack, and armor styling than the DFG Stormtrooper models.
The models, and a comparison shot with the stormtrooper model :

Ah, I hadn't pledged to the first campaign and didn't realize they were different.  Yes, some of those alternate bodies and back packs would be cool.

Are the metal ones available anywhere?

Not anymore that I know of.  Mark may have some left over, but I thought they all sold out.

I got hold of a box of troopers on Sunday and  must say that they are very sharp. I was a little disappointed that there were only the standard rifles in the box... but apart from that they are lovely looking minis (I will be getting the upgrade box to add a bit of variety at some point).

Shame about the rifles - though the accessory box looks pretty brilliant (and appeared to me to be a "must buy" if you do invest in the troopers).

I really need to come up with an excuse to buy these...dammit!  lol

Very nice PJ (and on the metal too; and your right - they look good with the Striders!). I've got mine and started a few conversions and building a couple of Mules (fiddly build on the legs, yes, but doable). Pics on the blog.... http://dwartist.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/an-eisenkern-passenger.html

I've got my first mule finished.  I used the "smart mule" head and gave it a couple of interchangeable pallet loads.  One is Class V (ammunition) and one is Class I (Food & Water).  Mark was dead on saying that the kit was fiddley, those tiny leg parts took a bit of patience to get together.  I stronlgy recomend his tip to assemble the legs first and then attach them to the body.

You can read a full write up on my blog:

As always, comments welcome.

Very cool...and oddly i think you could use that Mule for some pretty cool 6mm-10mm sci-fi stuff too (as a gigantic loader etc.)

Thanks.  High praise indeed.  I must admit that I'm too lazy to read that 2" thick manual that came with my camera, so I put it on auto and hope for the best.  I'm never sure how pictures are going to turn out.

Trick is to turn on your Macro setting - much better for small/close up work.  Works a treat.

All of my pictures were taken with the macro setting.  The problem I run into is with the auto focus.

No fan of "Space Nazis" but these look good enough to make an exception if I used this scale which I unfortunately don't.

Great work on all the figures.

Gracias,

Glenn
