Take your time - don't rush into it, and make sure you know what you are using before you get going.

The other two big ones I made have more extensive photo logs...

Maybe you could meet on Route 60, somewhere between Kansas City and Denver? That looks about half-way...

Any LAFers in that vicinity want to offer to host this epic showdown?

Well, on/near I-70, I imagine space could be found at Recruits, April 5-7, 2013 in Lee's Summit, Missouri (Metro KC). VSF_Gamer, Commander_Carnage, and moi would be there salivating...  ;)

Doug

Edit: And, unlike Colonel O'Truth and the lads of Melbourne, you would be meeting mid-continent; no danger of sinkage due to the weight of too much awesomeness...

And one of the better buys I have made in the last few months.

So, I wanted some wagons, and while I don't have any hitching poles or tackle on them, that is because I couldn't come up with anything that both looked good, and was still able to work with whatever critter I decided to have pull it, which, depending on the game or the scenario, could be a horse, one of my bulettes, or a mechanical something...so I just built a base that has a space for whatever I put there. So long as it has one of my custom cavalry bases, it'll work.

The kicker is, these were $2.95 US each.  Because they are pencil sharpeners.  I pulled the sharpener piece, plugged the hole in the back with a barrel or chest, and poof, here we are.  Are they super detailed?  No, but certainly good enough.  And they scale well.  Here is one pulled by a bulette rider with a soldier escort.

Where do you find them?  You may ask, and...

...receive your answer.

And I don't know about the whole mett halfway thing - I hated Kansas when we were there for 3 weeks, and I associate Missouri with my best friend's now ex-wife, so I'd rather not see what raised such a two-faced cheating (insert expletive).  Maybe Nebraska? My wife has family in Hayes Center...

Did you do any painting on those, or is that how they looked out of the box (barring the bucket/chest on the rear end, naturally)?

Fully painted by me, actually.  They come naturally with faux copper finish.

Well, naturally. Why wouldn't they be in a lovely coppery shade? Oh well, they look great anyway.

Wow, Hayes Center is about as much a jaunt as KC to me, and nearest hub is Denver, I think.

But, we'll keep thinking...

Wagons are a quick and dirty, much to their credit. Good find!

The problem with copper shade is the necessity of a covering of rivets, and on a Conestoga, seems right out. Need to save them for sensible tanks, and armored ducks and bunnies....

PS I will remind all of the WWI Museum in KC,MO. I found it worth a trip on it's own. Even bought a t-shirt!  lol

That same ebay seller has stagecoaches as well. I wonder how they size up.

Coaches are quite well served by wedding cake decorations, and easier to convert, but I suspect the pencil sharpeners are smaller. Prolly good 15mm or such fit.

I will say that looking at the selection of sharpeners has been a bit of an eye-opener. I've found a few on occasion suggesting use, but, when you tend to see a few at a time at truck stops and dime/dollar stores (those in other countries who know geographic-appropriate terms, please speak up), you don't realize how many may be useful, as long as you're willing to fit them to near-appropriate scale and period gaming.

The not-Titanic ship might do service for 1/2400 naval, for instance.

Always good to 'see with new eyes...'

I haven't ordered the stagecoach yet, but I might.

My latest Aeronef creation, Tannsgrisnir, the scout Aeronef used as a shuttle from Gungnor to the ground.  Armed with 2 light cannon.  I built as a small version of Gungnir, and I am quite happy with it, actually.

You could even use that as a 15mm Gungnir, if you were to go crazy.

I am sorry, but I only game in God's own scale.

Great, I'm promoting inter-scalar amity, and you go all scalist on me!  :D

Truly awesome work continues! You'll be needing panoramic photography equipment for future 'group' photos.

And, it'd take a bit of swapping, but would do lovely at 15mm at that.  ;)

That's why I mentioned 15mm. The One True Scale.  ;)

Actually, I am a scale heretic. I game (or plan to game) VSF in four different scales at present. In reality, I have some decent forces for both 15mm and 28mm, a few 1/1200 ships, and the start of my 6mm forces.
