Hungarian Archers
« on: March 02, 2013, 03:50:12 PM »
My latest miniatures:

Hungarian Archers, sculpted by Ebob in commision for Tankred, who will make them available via Heer46 in the near future.
I really love the sculpts. Ebob made an awesome job on those.

Actually I won't use the for historical gaming, but as Khand mercenaries for the LotR Skirmish. They would be perfect to be played as allies with the new Warriors of Dale as well.

Finarfin,
Are you able to guide me on what time period these types cover please?
Would they still have this type of attire into the 1450-75 period, or are they based on an earlier period?

Many thanks,
Simon.

I have been thinking same.
WRGs "Armies of Middle Ages, vol 2" gives those costumes time range of about 1360 - early 15th.
And later western fashion was favoured by at least native Hungarians.

Finarfin,
Are you able to guide me on what time period these types cover please?

According to the Angus McBride illustrations they are based on, they should fit for 13th (the blue ones) to 14th century (the patterned coats). Since I intend to use them for wargaming in Middle-earth (and am no expert in Hungarian history) I wasn't too exact with my research...
