Heisler nailed it on what's wrong with those buildings.  Buy some angle pieces and add them and you improve those buildings by several hundred percent.  Why don't they include such pieces in the kit?  Standard practice in the model railroad world for laser kits.  The trick will be to get the right size of angle -- and you can use styrene plastic distressed to look like wood if you can't find the right piece made in wood.  Look forward to seeing someone try this and show the results.

Painted this one quickly yesterday. To be honest I'm not really satisfied with the result.

I have other banditos in early stage of painting and I have started also my Pinkerton detectives.

Looks a hell of a lot better than any of my stuff.  The bandidos have serious character!

Fine Bandidos Compadre
Well I've lead an evil life, so they say, but I'll outrun the Devil on judgement day.

I have finally redone my basement where my workshop is located. After 4 long months without access to my painting desk, I'd really enjoyed this week-end. Done 3 new buildings. Quick crappy iPhone picture.

Very nice!

The weathering is great.
Proper 'down and dirty' looking.

I did have to do a quick double-take at the saloon, as at first glance I thought it said 'Facebook...'

That WAS a scary moment, I can tell ya!

Thanks. I did use your howto for the signs. Simple and clever.
