Are Foundry DA horses small compare to other company?
« on: March 12, 2013, 04:57:47 PM »

Do you know if the Arthurian/Late Roman horses from Foundry are small compare to other company products? Their foot figures are noticeably smaller than the Artizan ones for example… is it also thru for the horses?

Does anyone know of a link to a comparisons picture somewhere on the net?

Cheers! 8)
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

My GB horses from the old Arthurian range towered over the Foundry ones, so much that I sold the Foundry off. The foot scaled up ok, but the horses just didnt mix.

Yes, they are more similar to the GB ponies in size.

that was the style back then when foundry was THE address for historical miniatures
things have changed
it is actually the most obvious difference between the 25mm and the 28mm standard, IMHO
and You will see it not only with WF but with ohers from that era too
maybe it was the pewter price back the that let them make horses so tiny, who knows

Thanks for the replies. I will "cheat" by putting them on thicker bases. It’s what I’ve done with Dixon figures and it isn’t that noticeable on the tabletop (providing that all the bases are finished the same way).
