Dystopian Wars - Blazing Sun vs the French
« on: March 25, 2013, 07:29:59 PM »
I recently had a couple of encounters with the powerful French fleet.  My Commodores learned quickly!

The First battle of Sarigan

The Second Battle of Sarigan

Beautiful choice of colours for both fleets. I've found the matchup EotBS vs. RoF a tricky one due to the heavy French flak which reduces the Japanese firepower quite notably, especially in the early game. You obviously had a strong focus on battery fire, so I'd be interested what your impression was to that regard.

Also, three banzais for the magazine explosion on the Vauban! Our favourite critical result, sadly happens faaar too rarely.

Aye, the French AA neutralises our rockets, but we have other options.  The strength of the EotBs fleet i think is that it has got something for every task.  I knew i was facing the Vauban in both battles but wasn't prepared for its utter dominance in the first game.

Second match I switched tactics and took a selection of heavies to 'concentrate all fire on the superstardestroyer'.  I got lucky with the early crit, but ultimately even a Vauban will be brought down by so much primary fire.  And if that didn't do it there's always our secret weapon - the Uwatsus (the EotBS best ships in my opinion)...

Very nice colour schemes for both fleets - the blue is unusual but works very well.  8) 8) 8)

Great battle report. Love the colours on the EotBS Fleet. Might have to use that Grey & Green scheme on something myself at some point.
