If you have two players allied on one side and one player on the other, what's the best way to sort out who activates what and when?

???

There are a couple of ways of doing this.

Since the two players are allies, they can be counted as one "side" when determining turns. The first of the allied players (Ally 1) activates one model and if fails badly and transfers play, it goes to the one player on the other side. If that side fails at activation or activates all models, play switches back but goes to the other allied player (Ally 2) on the other side. That player tries to activate all his models. It can go back and forth this way.

Another way is to have the three players as separate sides. Roll a die to determine order of activation and just follow the order for each player. Allied sides are not in consideration here, just players.

As antimatter said ally 1, opposition, ally 2, opposition, but if all of ally 1 successfully activates you could then let ally 2 see if they could activate any of their's that turn.
