Mingans Marauders World of Wondrous Marvels
« on: March 29, 2013, 06:24:18 AM »
Wondrous? Maybe not. Marvels? Nope. Just the thread where I plan to post my VSF work.

So first, I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself. The handle I use, Mingans Marauders is the name of my blog where myself and a few others post our current work. Due to recent events it hasn't been updated, nor has our facebook page. But soon, very soon, it will be. I'm the only one in the group who does Steampunk/VSF stuff, but one of the other members does 15mm Zulu War and Sudan stuff which I'll be posting in some time. For now you will just have to look at my junk work and perhaps I'll post photos of myself in my various costumes, but until I shave the mutton chops back on all you will get to see is minis.

First post! This is the Steampunk Heroine by Reaper I painted for my best friend as her Christmas gift. She also does costuming with me and is my Watson when we do our Holmes and Watson costume so I tired to paint it like her. I feel it came out pretty well, but that's for you all to judge.

I have no idea what is going on with the pants as I had painted them fully black. Yet in the picture it looks like there is some sort of gold dust going on.

I should note that I do the cobblestones different now. But at the time I had no idea what to do with them.

Please feel free to comment, ask questions, throw rotten tomatoes, what have you. Thanks!

I hope the good Doctor was suitably impressed.
She should have been.

She was and responded with needing to paint a model of me, but as I told her she'd have to get one of The Hobbit dwarves for that.

Nothing new painting wise, but I did come across some useful bitz.

The flamer for the now, sadly, discontinued Starship Troopers MI. Looks sorta useful for something.

Games Workshop Fantasy Dwarves gunner guys. The hand looks a little big, but I think I'll pop it on a model at some point. Plus I have a few extra from my dwarf army.

Now for some help. I seem to remember a few months(maybe even a year ago) seeing spare heads on eBay that had pith helmets and goggles. I know it wouldn't be too hard to sculpt googles on, but I'm not the best when it comes to that department. If anyone knows where you can find them still or has some spare, let me know.

Thanks!
