Group Franc
« on: April 13, 2013, 07:44:11 PM »
I finally got round to painting a pack of Crusader's Group Franc but I had no idea what one of them was supposed to be wearing. I had a crack at it anyway but was just wondering if anyone has a painted example so I can see if I was close to the mark.

It was the gent on the bottom right of the pic I had issues with.

do you mean his helmet?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

No, the helmets are just covered Adriens I think. It was more that the guy appears to be wearing a furry waistcoat. Was just interested to see how other people had painted it.

Can't really tell from the pic, but is it possible that it's a sheepskin waistcoat, like the one worn by the Franc-Tireur on the far right of this pic?

Yes I believe it is supposed to be that! And consequently I've painted it right. Thanks a lot Plynkes, really useful photos. Where did you get them from?

Just a quick internet search. I knew I had seen French soldiers and Resistance types in sheepskins, so thought it wouldn't be too hard to find a pic or two on the net with the right search terms.
