John Carter of Mars - What might have been
« on: April 15, 2008, 06:22:35 PM »
I never knew this before, but apparently Bob Clampett took a run at John Carter as an animated feature way back in the 30's. Someone posted some rare footage that had been compiled on youtube...

Wow!!!  :o  :o  :o

I've never seen that stuff before. Reminds me of the old Superman cartoons. I wish they still did animation like that.

thank you very much.  John Carter is a favorite of mine, probably being the first series I read when was prepubscent adolescent.

You and me both! I'm re-reading them for the first time in 30 or so years and they still are a ton of fun. It would have been so fun to have a rotoscope series of 'toons to enjoy.

I read recently that Charlton Heston's given name was John Carter. What a great name to have while growing up!
