Soviets in Spaaace
« on: April 30, 2013, 09:05:15 PM »
I'm looking for some ideas, color schemes and figures for doing 50s pulp Soviets in space.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Blue Moon do some nice 28mm 50s style figs with clear plastic dome helmet tops that could be generic. Dont know about other scales, as for colours - white (as boring as it might be) or silver ?

Brigade Games do 1950's soviets in their Atomic Café range. Armed w. kalashnikovs. Eureka Miniatures do 1960's sovs in NBC suit and gasmasks.
Copplestone has the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang range with some cold war Bond-style soviet villains.

Prince August has the Warzone figs. Cybertronic shock troops have a soviet-ish look. But possibly they look too modern.

Soviet Kosmonaut wore dayglo/hi vis orange suits with white helmets - Google Yuri Gagarin for pics!

The Prince August figs remind me of this

I would just like it to be known that I wholly endorse this idea. Eager to see where you go with it.
It's nothing, sir. Just a burn from a ray gun.
