The snow effects look amazing and are those Sister of Sigmar I spot in the second pic?

Great use of the old Heroquest Chaos Warriors. I just found 4 or 5 of those in a box in a closet, now maybe they have a purpose.

Hey Johnny,

Thanks for the comments. The cult models are from the Brotherhood westwind range and the skeletons are a mix of the old Darkworld game and Descent board game.

I had two copies of the old Heroquest game and statues and the like are perfect for those models.

Cheers,

Tenz

Great AAR.

Your "reanimated" experience can be of great use to Mr. D. Phipps and the PULP ALLEY playtesting group to finetune the rule, and your suggestion about dice matching sounds like a GREAT idea.

Thanks for sharing.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Can't take the credit for this one as Jet had the original idea for not matching and it works out great.

Thank you sir :-)

That was a kick-ass battle!  :-*

I really like how the momentum kept shifting back and forth -- it felt very cinematic.

Was that you first time trying the Race Against Time scenario?

THANKS

Hi Dave,

Yes this was the first time. What I liked about the scenario was the defender always had to be on their toes as the attacker just needed to get to the leader and its game over...Even though I was keeping the Liberators at bay there was always that worry that one would break thru.

We are working our way thru the scenarios and had a chance to play Dangerous Delivery. Which pitted my Sinister Syndicate against Jet's Blackstone league. Due to some bad choices on my part and good tactics on Jet's part he was able to win with all plot points. But the scenario played well and worked.

Cheers,

Tenz

Terrain and maneuvering can play a big role in Race Against Time. I think it's also one of the scenarios where having a decent sized league can really work in your favor.

Dangerous Delievery can catch a lot of folk unprepared the first time through. AND controlling the Initiative is oh so important in those last couple critical turns.

Like all the basic scenarios these are intended to have tons of re-play value.  :D

Those burst markers are part of my 3" template collection. They are from older GW games - Necromunda, Warhammer Magic, and perhaps a 90s version of 40k. The ones we use most often are great because they have a hole in the middle that fits over a base AND they are fiery orange on one side and chemically green on the other. This whole collection is proving very useful for Pulp Alley.

I'm really liking those snow covered roofs and ice filled river. Any tips on making those?  :-*

Hey Dave,

Its fairly simple. The cabins are from Pegasus Hobbies and are their Russian log houses line.

The snow is just woodland scenic snow flock.

http://woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/show/Item/SN140/page/1

For the snow I mixed the flock with some watered down PVA glue and applied to the log houses. Once completed I sprinkled the the covered area to give the sparkle, fresh snow look.

The river is completely scratch built. I started with mdf as the base and cut the lengths and angles I needed. I then added small pieces of bark to represent rocks and sanded the edges for the shoreline of the river. After it was dried I dry brushed to my needed color and then painted the water in the middle. The "ice pans" are melted down white candle wax, (I had it a little too thick) followed by 4 coats of Mod Podge for the 3D water ripple effect.

A few more pics are located below.

Hope this helps,

Tenz
