South Africans aren't really my thing but whilst doing a bit of window shopping on the Gasoline site, I came across this rather lovely new kit. Might be of interest to someone.

The kit looks gorgeous, although the colour looks lighter than I remember, and they didn't let it get that badly weathered (chipping, I mean).

It may be modelled as a Moroccan, Yemeni or Libyan vehicle perhaps?  :)

Having seen many of the real thing, indeed my brother served in one, I can say that the colour is wrong and the weathering too heavy but a fantastic find.

I painted this one for GHQ - maybe a bit small for you in 1:285, but I tried awfully hard!

Grant, don't get me wrong. That looks great.
But how did you paint the windows onto such a tiny model?  o_o

Thanks!

I have a favourite Winsor & Newton Series 7 brush, a 00, that I use for such things. Well thinned paint, and a speck of Flow-Aid, the windows almost paint themselves. And I'm lucky - GHQ wants blackened windows rather than blue, or sky reflections or some such. Easy! ;D

The hand painted lettering was a bit trickier.  o_o
