Before I begin - apologies for not having everything fully painted. We are closing in every game. There are a wide variety of figures (next time you will see some of the Harwood Minis) but there are Reaper, Eureka, Hasselfree, Acheson, Copplestone and Grekwood to name a few (sorry for those I missed). Buildings are another mix, of Miniature Building Authority, Litko, 4 Ground but mostly Demo-Laser Cut and I want to thank Steve specifically for the Hospital (which he built to my design) and the great service he provides. The police station should figure in the next game!
ACTION DEPLOYMENT – 3 Veteran INEPT Teams deployed by Air to rescue an UN IMREPFOR unit. The UN IMREPFOR unit was doing a reconnaissance of the town of Sheboygan Michigan when the were struck by heavy weapons from an Unknown Number of XRAY's. Incursion was definitely bigger than a scouting mission and is likely centered around harvesting human hosts.
SITUATION: A UN IMREPFOR United Nations (Immediate Response Force) section has been attacked and pinned down in a gas station just outside the town of Sheboygan Michigan.
A. Enemy Forces
1. Composition is unclear. Three types of XRAYS have been identified, heavy weapons have also been identified.
2. Enemy Caps and Lims – unclear at this point although no AFV's have been identified.
3. Enemy Course of Action: Likely awaiting a Harvester ship to come and pick up any of the UNIMREPFOR and local civilians.
B. Friendly Forces
1. Three INEPT Teams (Blue 6 Agents, Green 6 Agents, Red 5 agents).
Blue Team left to right - Assaulter, Sniper, Spotter, Medic, Leader, Support.
Green Team left to right - Assaulter(KIA), Leader (and CO for all INEPTT in this action)(KIA), Support, Rifle/Medic, Spotter, Sniper
Red Team left to right - Assaulter, support, Leader, second support, Medic.
2. Surviving members of the UNIMREPFOR (unclear how many).
3. Two Attack Helicopters.
4. 3 Transport Helicopters
MISSION:
Combined INEPTT Forces are to coordinate an insertion into the gas station and secure any
surviving UN IMREPFOR soldiers and any casualties. Sheboygan is also to be cleared of any
possible XRAYs. If there are remaining XRAYs then all casualties and living civilians must be
evacuated to ensure XRAY Harvester ship does not take any human personnel or remains.
EXECUTION:
INEPTT will deploy via Helicopter into the OA (Op area) – on-site commander to ascertain where the chalks will be landed. Cover will be provided by two attack helicopters. OA consists of the Gas Station and the outskirts of Sheboygan. Dispersion of forces is at the discretion of OSC (on scene commander).
When gas station and outskirts are clear, code word “Bastogne” to be sent via Eye in the Sky comms links to signal a road move by convoy to extract all INEPTT,
UN IMREPFOR and Civilians.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Eye in the Sky Secure Satellite Communications.
INTELLIGENCE SATELLITE provided the following shots of Sheboygan to aid in initial INEPTT assault.
At Dawn teams Blue and Green landed immediately by Helicopter. Assaulting the hospital and the gas station itself by FASTROPE.
Green team landed on the Gas Station.
At the same time Blue landed on the Hospital.
Both teams came under immediate fire from a formerly unknown type of XRAY. Both teams were lucky and came away with no injuries and only minor damage to the Helos. A strike launched by one of the two attack Helos took out one of the new XRAY's (now known as Centropods) but it took a lot of firepower to do this – gonna be a nasty XRAY to deal with. Second XRAY was a new type of Sythkat – a Synthlion and was another nasty opponent. Green Team secured the gas station and gas station where they found that UN IMREPFOR was down to only 4 soldiers. Decision was made to have them stay in the fortified position and send all non-combatants to that location for future evacuation. Blue team Set up a fire base on top of the Hospital and waited for Red team to land before attempting a breach.
10 minutes after Blue and Green had touched down Red landed and once again to a hail of fire from yet another Centropod. Fire was accurate but failed to penetrate the body armour of Red team and return fire laid low yet another XRAY. Red team then moved to clear the hospital with Green team moving down the road towards Sheboygan bridge and Blue consolidating on the back road leading into town, as well as maintaining a fire support position on the Hospital roof.
Red team was repeatedly engaged by Snake-like being from the hospital. They successfully counter attacked breaching two different doors into the ground floor and destroying 3 Xrays in quick succession. Moving to the second floor they engaged in close combat with two more and killed a third with fire from the auto-cannon. Six Xrays in one building left little doubt that this mission was a tough one, and they had not even reached town yet.
As Green and Blue teams continued their simultaneous movement towards Sheboygan, Eye in the Sky reported a large amount of activity in town which was giving indications of the death of a number of non-combatants, word to the three teams was to hurry up into town.
As Green crossed the Sheboygan bridge they were engaged by a third Centropod, this one firing with effect and taking out the Green Team Captain – a bitter blow as the ranking officer on the ground was now dead. At the same time heavy weapons fire from the row housing had further effect wounding a Blue team member who was lucky to survive. Counter fire from the Green Sniper team took out the Centropod, but Blues response fire was less than ideal failing to score any hits at all.
Red team was rapidly moving up behind Blue team to support their movement. Green Team believed they were clear and move right into a hail of photon cannon and rifle shots that killed another veteran Agent. (in total the two agents lost to Green team had a combined 17 missions – a bitter loss for green and the entire INEPTT force). As Blue moved into the near by woods to try and get better firing positions Red moved their Milan launcher into position and used it to destroy the end unit of the complex as well as taking out the Snake-man Plasma cannon and causing severe wounds to yet another Snake-man.
In Sheboygan the Mayor was attacked by a creature that he failed to kill and so was slain in turn (a Raver Zombie was the culprit but this was only found out later.) When the Raver went after the Mayors father he killed it with his knife and save the Mayors wife in the process.
All three teams fired into the Snake-men remaining in the row house complex killing two and causing the leader to run for cover. The Snake-men were in bad shape but chose to fight on rather than be evacuated by Drone ship. This only lasted for one more round of firing when the INEPTT Teams took out one last Snake-man causing the last 6 and the leader to flee in panic. Along with them went two Synthpanthers. The remaining XRAY's were Gangers or Doppelgangers (nasty things!!) and a few zombies that had been turned by the Gangers.
With the last Xray slain and the houses cleared INEPTT could sit back, patch up their wounded and bury their dead. The battle report sounds a lot more lopsided than the actual engagement was. With even a modicum of luck it could have been INEPTT who were fleeing for their lives. Luck was with us today and we learned some extremely valuable lessons and developed some good tactics! The XRAYs are getting smarter and much, much more dangerous!

To Quartermaster General INEPTT HEADQUARTERS CHICAGO ILLINOIS
Sir, it was evident in this last action that our INEPT Agents are beginning to become at risk given the level of fire power the XRAY's can now bring against them. I must press you with respect Sir, to push hard on your development of body armour for our personnel. We lost two veteran agents in this operation and it could have been much worse if not for our first class combat medical personnel. However, we have two KIA veterans as well as 4 others who will be out of service for a few weeks as they recover from severe wounds.
