I've got a blog post with some other survivor figures for scale comparison.

http://thecolorblindmodelpainter.blogspot.com/2013/05/wargames-factory-survivor-scale.html

Base heights aside, the WFG survivors are significantly bigger than Hasslefree figures (almost a head taller).  I'll see If I can drag out a Bolt Action Figure, but I think it will be in the same ballpark (shorter than the WGF figure).

Grekwood Miniatures are now selling these and various other new sets at really good prices. This set in particular is £15.50!

Re-reading rwwin's blog post on these guys, I started to wonder if you could kit-bash a box of the the WF survivors and a box of their WWII American infantry.  The infantry would provide more long sleeved options for the survivors, and a mix of the soldier and survivor parts (with a ragged looking paint job) could be used to get the impression of a post-apocalyptic militia, or a warlord's army, etc.  Just a thought.

EDIT: Or just get some of the US infantry arms from a bits seller.

It should be possible, it might just take a little bit of putty to fill in any awkward gaps. They are the same size figures, so I don't really see much of a problem.

It might work.  I have a set of the infantry and still have a full set of the survivor bodies left.  I'll see if I can make it work if I ever find the time.

What I'm more interested in is seeing if I can get any of the female arms to work on the male bodies and vice versa.  If the shoulders work out, you could significantly increase the potential variation of both boxes.  Although you might end up with some burly women and stick armed guys, but Dr Mathias' promo shots make it look possible.

Another thing that I just haven't had time to try is the survivor arms and heads on some of the studio miniatures plastic zombie bodies.  Three of the bodies don't have much in the way of wounds or gore, so should be able to pass as survivors if the sizes work out.  I still have at least 40 of those zeds sitting around but haven't had time yet.

Hey guys, did any of you have trouble with the cross bow guy? In the photo is shows his left hand holding the crossbow, but I used the correct piece (All labelled I3 and I4) and it doesn't match up properly...  :?

Am I doing something wrong?

I bought these to sell on my website, so I'm fixing some up to take to shows etc, but this is actually getting a little frustrating lol The detail on them is amazing though :D

Yep,

I assembled him with a left arm holding a pistol. Looks like crap though :

That's a good idea, I might do that... Mine is just holding his left arm/hand out as if he is waiting for payment or something lol

I may have to use putty to make it line up...

Ok I made it work... kinda...

I cut the shoulder parts on the body so they are slightly more angled. I then glued the left arm to the crossbow arm, and then glued the arms to the shoulders. There are slight gaps but I can cover them with some procreate putty.

Still, it's a little annoying that the one in the photo works, yet it doesn't in the actual kit...

I did run into the same issue with the tank top body.  Instead of cutting, I just stuck the crossbow on the body with the cargo pants where it fits much better.
