Ork Shokk Attack Gun
« on: April 30, 2013, 09:29:29 AM »
I've just finished this 2nd Ed. Shokk Attack Gun, most probably my favourite weapon of all times in WH40K (I'm talking about 2nd Ed rules, when this game was still intended for fun, not for winning at any cost).

The best part of this is, of course, the cannon fodder (literally! :D)

Ahh, another thing lost in the mist of time :'(

Some more Snotlings in my blog:

Don't you think they really deserve to come back to the boards?

I always loved the concept of the shokk attakk gun to teleport snotlings into the servo armour of space marines...

Only ever played it using the white dwarf rules for RT. Was it very different in 2nd Ed?
Nice PJ, mine was always a total disaster whenever it fired.

Pretty much the point of any Ork tech though?

Great paintwork, and certainly worth it's entertainment value if nothing else.

Retro paint job. Brought back (good) memories for me. Agree, when the game was fun.

I painted up my second one last week. Lovely mini and very fluffy.

I like the yellow and black squares on yours.

Thanks! :)

This was a fuuun unit to use in every game, totally random and unpredictable. The results were hilarious (even when it was black humour -or maybe then specially...)
I'm aiming for that retro aspect, with eye-harmful schemes and everything that you can expect from an Ork army!

They look great, Suber! The Shokk Attack ork is very well done and I like Mr-cannon-fodder-with-watering-can too!

Yes, it really loses something when it's not about the process of preparing for the game as well ... personally, I really enjoy painting minis so it's a bit off-putting when it's all about how many units of how many figures you can have to get the right number of points.

Well done on bringing them to life again :)

Nice!

I had one of those in 2e, played it EVERY game - it either did nothing, or killed my own troops - EVERY game ... the odds had to turn at some point, right? Right???

Suber: I completely agree with you, the weapon was a blast to use and one of my favorite as well. I don't think I ever had much luck with it though from what I can remember it was my own troops that suffered the terrible fate of having snotlings teleported inside of them :). The painting is really nice as well ;)

One of my favourites as well, I'm sure mine managed to kill its fair share of chaos terminators though

Really impressive cheques on the gun!
