The Mystery League of Empire City!
« on: April 19, 2008, 02:16:22 AM »
I have been working hard for a few months now on adapting the .45 Adventure and Super Science Tales rules to Golden Age Comics action and getting
some figures and terrain ready for playtesting. This is whats I gots so far:

The Mystery League of Empire City - Group Shot

Dr. Xan the Undying Emperor and The Living Monolith, flanked by Xan’s terra cotta funerary legion
"That is not a squid . . .  " - Amos Hackshaw, Cast A Dealy Spell

Blackout, The Beacon, Red Crusader, and Phazon the Phazarian

Orion the Hunter, Destrier, Kid Colt, and Shortwave

Gigantress, Lady Starlight, Djinn Djinn, and The Living Flame

I'll put some more up after we give the rules a try.

Is anyone else working on a Rattrap Supers adaptation?

Mark,

Where does the Monolith figure come from? Is it a SuperSystem fig?

The game looks great, btw.

Heya Marc!

The Monolith figure is actually a repaint of one of those plastic D&D pieces. Looks suitably imposing though.

Thanks man!

Wow, very, very cool.

Are the buildings in the back from the Twilight Street card building ranges? I like the look of them...

I'm also going to have to go down to the local comic store sometime and rummage thru their bin of single clicky-base stuff. I've seen a lot of really cool repurposed clicky-minis!

The big one is a D&D minis figure called Maug from Blood wars.

Do I see the Ambiguously Gay Duo?

Great job!  :)

That showdown in the park reminds me of the end of the Hellboy animated movie Sword of Storms. Which is to say, it looks very cool.  8)

WireLizard's right - the buildings are from MicroTactix's Twilight Street Heroic Scale set.

http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=19869&it=1&filters=0_0_0&manufacturers_id=466

The Heroic Scale set is scaled slightly larger than the other Twilight Street offerings and the 20's/30's style of the buildings makes them nicely suited for a Golden Age project like this. Ultimately I plan to do five more boards with a roughly geomorphic street/building-plot arrangement so as to be able to do multiple board lay outs with the same few pieces, all in the best Rattrap tradition!

And JollyBob called it - Sword Of Storms was a big inspoiration for the the whole Curse Of The Living Monolith adventure . . .

Thanks Scott!  Needless to say I'm a big fan of your 4C figures.    :)     There'll be many, many more of them posted up here as the  Empire City campaign rolls on.

I'll be running Curse Of The Living Monolith for Rich at Historicon this summer. It'd be swell if you had a few minutes to wander by to take a peek in person and chat with the guys!
