Greetings

these entries are very similar yet different. I find the Knights more subdued while the Jarls are more stout and colourful.
Great

Tahnk you and good luck

As Artshiraz said, two nice and very similar entries. DIfficult to choose between the subdued colours of the first one and the more bold colours of the second one...

Both entries are excellent! The knights have a realistic look about them with the natural colours and the subtle shading. The Stoutback have more contrast but it suits thee models which are a bit more cartoony. Well done both!

I'm agreeing with the others, this is a hard choice. Good clarity and the extra footmen make up for the extra work put into cavalry. Nice job both!

I like the brighter pic on the knights, would like to see a brighter pic of the Jarls though. Taking pictures of a group of miniatures is always a challenge.
Nice banner for the Jarls.

Lovely work there Rob - and great lighting!

Must admit I was struggling a bit to get them all in a nice tight shot and believe it or not the other shots I took of them were a bit on the over exposed side.  ::)

I went with a Frog design for the banner as these are the Stoutbacks (minus the standard bearer and musician) from the old GW scenario - Kremlo the Slann  :D

Rob, you have upped your game. They look very nice indeed. Understated but tidy.

Good work both of you  :)

Have to admit I first read the 2nd entry as "Jarl of the Starbucks" and was bemusedly expecting a post-apoc gang camped out in the wreckage of a coffee shop!

Lots of character in both entries, nice colour in the Stoutbacks and really nice clear painting on the Normans.

No overpriced mediocre coffee, either!

Two very nice entries. I have to agree on the difference between the pictures and the tough choice is still is afterwards. I'm often also struggling with getting all the models nicely into focus and the colours just as I see them IRL.  Using a light tent/box normally helps getting the colours right.

Regarding the pictures I would not mind seeing a few more pictures of the Jarls from close up after this round. :)
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

Thanks for the commenst guys. I was really lucky with the lighting as the bright light coming of the unseasonal snow here in britain gave me a great defused lighting without the need for artifical lighting. I have got to try to maintain the quality now over the next 10 weeks.

Well done to Thansants on some lovely old models painted very well. When taking photos of groups of figures against a background like trees I find it helps to meove them closer to the camera and leave a bigger gap between the figure and the camera, as this seems to help get the entire group in focus.
