Blood Bowl Halflings
« on: April 22, 2013, 06:02:18 PM »
May I introduce the newest Blood Bowling force from the Moot...

'Jumbo' Hairy Haufmann
Often mistaken for Puggy Baconbreath due to his unusually imposing (for a Halfling) stature, Jumbo is just as capable of demonstrating silky Blood Bowl skills.

The Halfwits line-up for their 17th team portrait of the season during another hectic, high-turnover campaign.

Jumbo is ably represented by the Willy Miniatures Halfling Star Player: http://www.willy-miniatures.blogspot.co.uk/.  The Halflings are the original GW 2nd Ed models, bizarrely supplied to me by GW themselves several years after the 3rd Ed models had been released.  The Treeman is, as if any introduction were needed, one of the old Marauder classics.

Hope you like what you see.  As someone who could be described as a 'casual' painter, I admit there is nothing gobsmackingly impressive here (in fact my brother painted the Treeman!) but I thought I'd share it anyway.  Hopefully I'll be able to deliver something else in the future.

There's nothing better than a halfling BB team. Gotta love the little fellers...

Good to see the squad finished! Jumbo looks magnificent, as do the rest of the Halfwits. Could we see some more teams in the future...? I hope so!

Top work that man! They look great..

The sickle in the fruitful field;
The sword he sung a song of death,
But could not make the sickle yield."

Grand show!  8) 8)
One question - I have a soft spot for GW halflings, and have assembled enough models for a team, although not all are Blood Bowl models. I also want to use them as fillers in a WH regiment, and would be using square bases - as in the pic. Can I guess this has no effect on the BB rules?

Awesome team!  Halflings are my favourites too - I've used them in more tournaments than any of my other teams combined.  I guess that explains my poor NAF rankings then  lol

Square bases don't matter in Blood Bowl - actually it might make it easier to lay down the models when they are prone and stunned.

Thanks for the feedback, the quality of which is far superior to the quality and size of my photo's!

Would agree with that.  Round looks better and certainly the norm, but square is probably more practical.  Not content with supplying the out-of-date Halflings GW packed them with square bases, so they must have had an inexperienced troll on duty that day.
