Submarine in scale 1:72
« on: April 23, 2013, 06:31:45 PM »
Hi all! I'm planning to do a skirmish board with a submarine, preferably german or russian. Does any one know if any manufacturer does these in scale 1:72?

For the discerning U Boot commander look at Andrea Miniatures - superb metal figs.

Why are modelling figures so much nicer than wargame figiures?

Totally agree! Why use the gaming figs?

The Andrea stuff looks amazing, very nice proportions and a level of detail that does not suggest 20mm!

i think Andrea are pretty good scale wise. I treated myself to their 30mm Naploeon and a imp gd drummer.

They are gorgeous figures imo.

Nap is a little big, but based on his own (well nearly - I put one of our (OM) arty figs with him) he looks fine.

The drummer just looks tall, as a grenadier should. But the point is they are exactly what they say they are scale wise.

At the price they are though, I think a lottery win would be required before I made a unit of them. Their French Hussars are superb! Nearly as good as our Dragoons :P ;)

I think their U Boot crew are spot on 1/72 as they are aimed at the plastic kit U Boots, must go and have a watch of Das Boot now........
