Gorgarrak's 20mm WW2 Russians
« on: April 26, 2013, 11:48:41 AM »
For a while now I have been building a Russian force for Battlegroup Kursk that will be able to be played using either the Infantry or Armoured list and it is only recently that I have built up the courage to post pictures online, So without further ado - I'll begin with a group shot, poor photo as it is.

I have spent the past couple of months practicing with my airbrush, and it's so fun, I love it, so what better way to play with a new toy than paint a few tanks?
Well here are the results,
Some PSC T-34-76s, all with added stowage, new grab-rails made from staples and crew from Britannia

A couple of Pegasus Hobbies KV1-e, with extra stowage and new barrels from RB.

2 122mm Howitzers from Zvezda with extra PSC crew.

A Zvezda 85mm AA gun in Tank Hunting role, I need to add a load of ammo crated and other bits when I get them, the base looks a bit bare.

My Horse drawn supply wagons, from HaT with converted and Britannia drivers, plus a guy from Zvezda having a sly Ciggie!

and finally an Airfix Yak9d. not airbrushed this time but I will in future, hand brushing aircraft takes so damn long!

Well, as you can see I've not been idle, but plenty more where those came from soon plus more photos on my blog.

This force has come up very nice - everything ties together and the bases are also A-grade. Nice one.

I love it. Really well done, always good to see a red onslaught like this, all you need now is some hordes of infantry. As a by what rules are you using?

150 Infantry on the painting table now, I had a load done with dip but I'm going back and highlighting them all

and Trucks too

As for Rules I am using Battlegroup Kursk, a fantastic fun gameset by Warwick Kinraid, hence the individual basing of infantry on UK Pennies.

I have started to get my infantry organized for the BGK Russian infantry list, I have spent the last few days drawing together my part completed bits from my WIP pile to form an unsupported Company to which I will soon add some Platoon Support options.
Firstly here is a pic of the full Company -

and each Platoon Individually -

As an extra while I was painting these up I got my Sappers finished although I'll be replacing one of the Mine sweepers with a flame thrower when I can find one not in a camo suit

I also got a Sniper and Spotter done, as well as a Medic

All miniatures by Elheim, CP, TQD and Zvezda including some Zvezda conversions.

Thanks for looking, More on my Blog
