fallout, the glow (west tek research facility)
« on: July 05, 2013, 07:28:22 AM »
Hi everyone. i'm planning on building a game board of the glow, aka the west tek facility, and am having the darndest time locating a source for the screens/monitors, computers, etc that are in the place. i've gotten just about everything else sourced to some extent or another, but i havent been able to find anything that fits for these (see pic).. any suggestions? i've got the entire facility mapped out on grid paper so i have a rough idea what size i need, but so far no joy

Aintsy and Hirst have some stuff that'll work for some of the screens and the bio-tube/chamber things, but most of it doesnt quite do it for me.. thank you for all the suggestions, though, i appreciate it. and if anyone is curious about the scale, each floor tile/wall panel looks to be about 1 1/2 inches, and each section looks to be divided up into 1/2 inch sections, ie the T junctions are 1/2 on either side of the T, and all the walls are 1/2 inch thick, and 3" high. total map size is approx 39 1/2 by 45 1/2 (at least, these are the scales/dimensions i'm using to creat the gameboard itself; this roughly correlates to 28-40mm game scales)

For the computers you might want to check out the Scotia Grendel Sci-fi consoles:

Spartan scenics has some pieces too:

I believe you might also find suitable pieces at Armorcast:

And you could try Copplestone's KKBB bits and pieces, too (under Props and Equipment):

Armorcast is really bad on delivery. I'm still waiting for a relatively small 108$ order that I placed on 4/20. It's ridiculous.

Try getting some SmoothCast 300 on MisterArt.com (20$) and a sci-fi mold from Hirst Arts:

You can make quite good replicas of the Fallout 2 scenery using these molds, and from someone who has done it for years, it's REALLY easy.

Fenris have a set of terminals in their incursion objective range that I plan to use for sci fi.

Another source would be antenociti's which has a large selection of SSL fi gubbins.

Doesn't antenociti do screens and stuff?

I believe so yes. I know they do small control panels for doors etc.

Here in these picture is my hirst arts versions of the first console.

If it is any help

The machinery mold has a lot of pieces that can be used for some of the others at least.
