Isn't the guy in the green T shirt Sheldon Cooper? Sorry, Dr Sheldon Cooper.

Oh this is not an easy one. The composition on both of these is outstanding.

Although I voted for gnomehome, it was the insets that did it for me.  The photography (which I know nothing about sorry) on the big picture was bight and shiny.  Without those insets to see what you actually did, you would not have stood a chance against the competition in my vote (for the future?  lets be able to see your incredible multi level shading for example).

I especially loved the green lantern touch, but the whole set had a great story!

Thanks for all the kind remarks - I wasn't even aware I was able to do incredible multi level shading  ;D

I agree with the shiny/glossy comments - it has popped up as a comment in a previous round as well. I blame the varnish (semi-gloss /satin in reality - matt according to the label). I've since bought Army Painter Matt Varnish bit have yet to try it -  maybe for next years LPL.

The fact that I don't use a lighbox but simply use an overhead daylight lamp, probably makes the glossines a bit more noticeable. I'll have to try to make a light box and see how that works out. I think my pictures are better than last year, and I'll hope to improve them by next year. I've bought a shiny new camera that should allow me to mess around with the settings a bit (AV modes seemed important to have) , but I've only used the 'full automatic dummy mode'.

I like my games like my orange juice: pulpy with no added sugar or artificial sweeteners

They look good, worth testing one with a matt overlay spray it will work a treat

I've bought a shiny new camera

I think I can see where it went wrong  ::)

In my case the shiny picture is also due to not having used a matt spraycoat because I ran out of time (again) and did not notice how much of the plastic sheen was left on the miniatures until I put everything together in paint shop pro, at which time it was off course to late.

After the LPL I'll return to them with a nice hard shiny varnish followed by a good matt coat.

Thanks for the kind comments on the miniatures and the setup, Really enjoyed painting these guys. Little details like the lightsaber on dr. Cooper made them a lot of fun!
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?
