Lannister warband: the beginningening...
« on: May 21, 2013, 02:22:10 PM »
So, I've finally gotten round to finishing the first warband of figures for my A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones project, some lovely Lannisters:

Lots more waffle on the blog (link in my sig), but hopefully next should be some Starks to oppose them, or Jaime mounted and on foot (if I can get a pair of LOTR Aragorn heads), or maybe getting round to (finally) painting my Tyrion conversion:

I may have accidentally bid on some Mighty Empires tiles on eBay, but I think I'd need around 26 sets to do Westeros south of the wall... and of course like every good wargamer I've already started thinking about doing Wildlings vs the Watch warbands... but that will have to wait until after I've done at least one warband for each of the Five Kings (in the Clash of Kings era), plus some Brotherhood without Banners... some hill men... some Brave Companions...  ::)

I like the idea of the Wildlings vs the Men of the Watch. These are some nice figures and well painted  :-*

Bugger, just having a dig through the bag of minis bought at Salute and found a Ral Partha Fighter in a ram horned helm, looks like I may have found my Vargo Hoat... curse you, inherent lack of focus!

Great lances! The striping makes them stand out nicely. What plans for the fleshy chick on the left?

She's a Hasslefree lovely, for a different project (was the first mini that came to hand when I was taking a scale picture for the original post on the conversion)

Oooh, those miniatures look nice! This thread will be interesting, since by coincidence I just finished a warband of Lannisters myself.  :)

A long, long time has passed, and I've not been around on the forums as much as I used to, but I've finished some more Lannisters:

More waffle as per usual on the blog, and no, I still haven't painted the Tyrion conversion that was already quite old in the first post! He is however base coated now, so you never know...
