Russian Buildings
« on: June 07, 2013, 07:34:35 PM »
I got some of those nice new 1st Corps buildings delivered yesterday and they come with detailed interiors.

Were the interior walls on Russian huts left as rough bark, or were they whitewashed ?

I've got two to paint, and a second order includes another two room hut of theirs (and a work room which I assume would have been left unpainted).

TIA.

Both possible.

In Russian wooden house walls could remain the natural color of wood (tree bark removed) or the walls were plastered with clay composition and whitewashed with lime.

Thanks as I suspected. :)
The models have 'dressed' internal walls, so will go for the white washed option.

Oh, and they are very good little bits of scenery !  :D

Thanks,
Giles

Any pictures Giles? I saw them unpainted on TMP, but I'd be keen to see your painted version.

I've got the earlier release...see my blog...and have so far only got them undercoated and was going to paint the insides first.

Should start painting them and will post pictures in the next few days (now that I've finally finished my cossack collection (about 80!))....

They look good.  Would love to see a painted version before I buy.

Ok, first one painted:
http://thelostcityofcarcosa.com/2013/06/12/bobrcw-1st-corps-buildings-painted/

The casting is crisp with next to no flash. As I note in my write up at the end, the interior detailing is as crisp as the exterior detailing.

I have several of the other buildings being painted (or rather not, as  am wasting time here typing  :D ) and they are all of the same excellent quality.

I'll endeavour to put up some photos comparing sized of the various buildings I have from different manufacturers.

HTH
