This looks like a great project!

Some neat paint jobs there—those HO buildings come up very nicely. Looking forward to seeing all the buildings set up on the Zuzzy mat too.

But where are all the zombies?

Thanks for all the nice comments Mates!  I must confess, I dont have as much time as I'd like to devot to this project right now, so progress may be drips and drabs...

I cut and am set to mount a 61x61cm section of the Zuzzy mat.  BTW, it cut beautifully.  I used a rolling cutter, it was a snap.  I also picked up some MDF board to mount it to, I plan to wash it down with light water and then to seal the boards with primer then spray glue the mat down.  I think this should work very well.  That way this mat can take more paint than the ones I will leave unmounted to roll up.  I can even use water effects here....

So without further adieu, the downtown portion of the village of Old Shoreham!

(The tan plastic is the site of the future gas station and the yellow building is the Handy Pantry shop.  I will also add a small church.)

That mat looks great. How much work you gonna do to it if any?

Cheers!  The mat in the picture is right out of the box, so it's grayish in color, but it also has some talc to keep the latex from sticking to itself.  It feels like a rubber high quality halloween mask, that type of latex.  I'm going to wash it down with a sponge and then treat it to some washes and drybrushing.  Then maybe some slight water effects to add brighter color here or there, but other than that, it's perfect as is.

The mat itself was pretty reasonable, I bought a 4x6 mat.  But my plan was to cut it down to a 4x4 and 2 2x2 mats. This is one of the 2x2's.

I HIGHLY recommend this product!

This is the Shoreham Store, it's still a WIP, but almost there. So I decided to share some early photos.

Cheers Mate!

I have a bunch of odds and ends coming in the mail like a 7-Up Machine and some crate and stuff.  They'll round out the Shoreham Store perfectly!

As to your prior question, the 66 zeds are on bases, but they need to be putty'd and primed.  But the Survivors and other antagonists are all ready for paint.  I just wanted to get some terrain going and they're easier projects while I'm working on my dissertation....   I have a gas station to get together and that will be all my starting terrain to get my campaign going.

Hoi All,

Ok, according to ATZ rules, I have enough terrain to cover spaces 4-9 and in theme for my first campaign!  This will therefore be the last terrain piece, aside from finishing the table, as I will switch to my minis.

Without further adieu, Al's Gas Station!

Oh, I wanted to add, I made the sign post magnetic at the base, that way I cannot only store it easier, but it'll also lessen the chance of it breaking off.  I also made the roof to the garage removable, and held in with a magnet.  In order to avoid detailing the interiors, because let's be honest, from the angle looking down you wouldn't see anything anyway, I paint closed off interiors black to obscure what's inside.  I really like the revised ATZ rules using tiles for building interiors and plan to use it no matter what ruleset I may be using.

Cheers!

I love the cars, what brand are they? Your paintjobs really work well on them, is that a MFP paintjob on the ute?
