All the Guys, Gals, & Whatever look WONDERFUL! GREAT WORK!

With each post, I come closer to cracking & sending of an order for Other World. I think when I do give in, you should receive a commission...I'll suggest it in the order.

I love the way you do your blues! The contrast between the blue and the flesh of the Djinn is particularly striking. The minotaur has some great definition in his flesh too. Nice fantastical collection!

This past fortnight, I have returned to my dungeon project and started to improve some Heroquest furniture.
I also bought some resin furniture from Scotia Grendel.

Heroquest furniture rebuilt with plastic card from Renedra bases.

I like what you have done with the Heroquest bits.

That is a great collection of minis from a variety of manufacturers that go very well together. It is always nice to see collections of disparate minis themed together by a great paint job.

Mick's 28mm Fantasy Projects (LOTR, Otherworld) Reaper Bones 1.6.2014
« Reply #26 on: June 01, 2014, 11:48:52 AM »
I have been interested in bones for a while, so I bought a few in the Bring and Buy sale at Carronade.  I was quite impressed so I bought some more from Miniatures Heroes.

Here are Reaper Bones Griffon, Owlbear, Eyebeast, Worm, Oxidation Beast, Medusa and Spider with Otherworld Characters as comparison.

Bones is a very good material for large creatures as it is light and durable.  These beasts will survive gaming better than metal equivelants.
Do not use spray primer as it can stay sticky - I undercoated with GW Black, GW Scorched Earth and Vallejo Green Grey and all worked OK.
I have had a strange problem with Vallejo Games colour on these - some of the colours came out very glossy - I don't know why.
I repainted the areas with GW or Vallejo Model Colour and that was OK.

Your new Monstrous Minis look SPLENDID...the Owl Bear is really appealing to moi. Bases & brushwork are OUTSTANDING. VERY WELL DONE!

Great collection, Mick, and thanks much for the inspiration concerning the Heroquest furniture. I was thinking a long time about using the parts or not, but seeing your results stimulates me to do the same.

What a nice collection of miniatures. I love the Heroquest furniture fix. I've been thinking about doing this as well. Seems many of us have had this idea, but you actually did the work for us and proved how good it could be. Thank you.
