15mm American Civil War Union
« on: June 03, 2013, 11:52:15 AM »
In 1998, a dear friend of mine, originally from Hartlepool, passed away and left behind some pretty good painted elements of an ACW Union army:

Read the tribute with shots of everything here: http://flashman14.blogspot.com/search/label/Stuart%20McDonald

Here's a sample:

While digging his stuff out I also took some shots of my Glory-inspired brigade of USCT I painted to beef up the Union forces a bit: http://flashman14.blogspot.com/search/label/USCT

Here's a sample:

In that attempt to augment what was missing, I did the Iron Brigade and some cavalry I'll post here later.

Questions and comments are welcome!
"One of My Men Became Restless" focuses on 15mm Horse & Musket periods and 25mm Horse & Musket, Fantasy, Horror and Victorian everything! Occasionally there'll be stuff of related interest but it's mostly a painters blog.  See it all here: http://flashman14.blogspot.com/

Not too dull or too bright - they (both sets) look beautiful.

The dead grass colour really work.  I had never considered that as an option.

Thanks all!

Ya - every bit of our ACW stuff is on dry grass like that. It is a bit unconventional but I like it. I actually still have a division or two for both sides to do up so I'll probably continue it as before - maybe more patchy instead of evenly carpeted though.

We didn't have tufts then either so I might put those down in the future to to break it up a bit.
