I think the idea of some templates for characters is a good one. As you said, some kind of generic troops would work for those who want the option of picking their army from a list.

It might also help in generating a quick encounter for anyone who happens to use the game for a more narrative/rpg style of game (which I think it has the potential for).

I'll be using BoB and the Epic Heroes rules for some Ancient Myths action and already I can see potential for some good games. I had an idea of writing up a Hydra as a small group of warriors (stat wise) to represent the abilities of each head and the body...

This is probably going off topic from your OP but I thought I'd throw it in :)

I dig it!  Let me know how it goes with the Mythic games.  I dig the Hydra idea.   :D
