Ran a couple of demo games for 3 guys at the club last weekend, Johan and Christian have already committed to the game by buying into the kickstarter - Magnus was just very interested in seeing the game in action (after the game he is strongly leaning towards joining in and playing Danes :-D ).
All the guys really like the game, and look forward to receive their kickstarter bundles. I myself got my first impression of the Cossack army, which got beaten up pretty badly by the "Gosiewski Foray" list with the Winged Hussars. However studying the rules for the Cossack units I found them to be very interesting and offered a lot of tweaks to improve the combat efficiency of the infantry hordes. Some very nice rules about upping the skill to an impressive 5 for registered Cossacks firing from the first rank only (second rank were poorer marksmen so they just kept to loading rifles), and some very interesting firing options for the Moloitsy who have rifled barrels and can fire up to 50cm from behind the wagons.
The wagons themselves proved to be an unbeatable opponent once engaged in combat, and as suspected better to be avoided if possible. Christian has a 5 wagons in total but only 2 were partially assembled for the demo as he focused on painting the infantry first. Still, I think that his force with 5 wagons will be a very tough opponent if deployed with some good terrain flanking the battle line and maybe even deploy the wagons in an L formation to cover both the front and one flank.
Really looking forward to playing against the Cossacks for real, and having read up on that army I have pretty much changed my mind from buying Muscovites and instead go for the Cossacks as my second "Skirmish only" force.
