Pardon my ignorance. There seems to be a bit of a buzz about this figure. Is it an established character from a film or something? I must own I've never heard of him.

I do like the figure, though.

That is Sgt. Rock from DC comics Our Army At War comics.  He is a iconic character in US war comics.  For some backgreound.

Thanks. DC, that explains it. The only US imports we got around here when I was a nipper were Marvel ones. DC's world is something I know very little about, beyond Superman and Batman.

And we had a barrel load of our own British war comics in the 70s and 80s anyway (my avatar comes from one). They were the main thing until 2000AD came along. Superheroes didn't really get much of a look-in. They just sat on the sub's bench waiting for a game most of the time.
