La Tene, Hallstat and Otzi are all good places to start for a more central/western European look - your local library or a trawl of the internet should bag you some nice images. Figures wise I am not really sure, but definitely not Copplestone stuff (although they are great, fun sculpts in themselves) as that is way to early (and fantastic).

yep, no pikes in the bronze age

depending on how accurate you want to do it, You must take care not to mix early, middle and late Bronze age and whether you are in the mediterranean, central europe or scandinavia. the low tech are tanged bifacial lithic arrowheads, the high tech is the trojan war, with pretty much all the stuff described in the Illiad and the known excavated dendera armour, bronze rapiers and boar tusk helmets etc. inbetween four wheeled chariots, round bronze shields and some chest armour, helmets

well, You have the books

Thanks again everyone! This thread has given me a lot to think about!  I have discovered some left over celts and ancient germanic types from another project, so I'll see what I can do with them in the short term,  and look to get the foundry bits in the near future  :D

funny enough, I never thought about wargaming that period (the epic Illiad aside)

I my cognitive association here is burials, cults and funny rituals involving four wheeled carts, some bronze weapons for the big shots and a lot of pottery...
And puny bar brawls, I don't know why  ;)

Sounds interesting for skirmish level and nice vignettes - Please take some pictures of the buildings
