ROBOGEAR: T-Rex Walker Model
« on: June 22, 2013, 01:11:52 PM »

I've been distracted from just about every other gaming to-do by this cracking little model which I got from Dr.Falkenhayn - Thanks! -

It's a fun model to do even though it needs a fair amount of work. It's 1/48th which isn't a problem aside from the pilot needs replacing. The cockpit canopy comes open, as I've used or glazed, so you don't actually need a pilot. It has spring loaded rocket launchers, which adds to the realism of course.  ;)

There's a pile of Robogear kits available, and typically at good prices, they seem to be of Russian origin, and that's where the best prices come from. Airfix did have them in their catalogue for a while but no longer, also IMEX had them too. You lot probably know all this, but it's new to me so likely new to, at least, a few others.

I've got 8 T-Rex waiting for some paint, but I've gone for the closed cockpit option. I see you used the Sentinel driver in yours, right?

Yes, I was recommended those for the Quinjet bash, so went back and got a couple more. I have filed off the wings and skull on the helmet though.

The Sentinel driver probably won't be an option once the new GW terms kick in though. I'm unaware of any other choices.

Ainsty Castings () do a selection of guys who would be suitable IMHO -

The can be purchased separate from the Buggys, and come with a head sprue.

You can buy extra heads separately as well.

The also do a version in a Space Suit -

Those are just the ones I am aware of, I'll bet there are more out there too.

Good call, but they're a bit retro for my needs. Thanks anyway.  8)

Cool! I have one of these still needing paint for my stealer cult. I was going to sell it but now I may keep it.

That is why i picked up a couple a few years ago. Seen some nice two person IG Sentinel conversions.
Also seen some kool conversions for the other Robogear line done by Iron Dog. He has some wacky looking flyers. And the treads are great for some many things.

Glad you like it guys. If you've got one they do need a fair amount of work to put together, just about all the pins need trimming, and putting the cockpit halves together is troublesome, but it's all good fun.

M-8 Suit up next?  ;)

Well this is the problem, I'm doing all humans because they're such neat models and not any bugs... I've on the exo-suited Junkers at the moment - and having probs finding good heads which will fit...
