Another 7 modules completed.

Corridor end with a small room.

Straight corridor.

Elevator.

Corridor with a side room entrance.

Corner corridor (with optional stairway going up)

Special adapter piece. This is the entrance to Ops and is needed to link the new tile system to the old ops module I previously made. Tile size is 5x7 inches vs the regular 5x5 tile size.

Another special adapter corridor tile to link to the Medical module I previously made. The door entrance has to be off center so I created a pop-in cap to close the entrance and change it into a regular T-section so I can use.

Another 5 tiles to go, door inserts, a bit of cosmetic work on the Ops/Medlab and the medical section modules, and all the 2nd level tiles for the South module will be complete.

Cheers.

They look great. Epic task you've set yourself, but you're making good progress.

Re the paint, I think it needs weathering, some oil washes and weathering powders would give it that lived in feel that it seems to be missing at the moment.

Fantastic project though.

Your attention to detail, and consistency of quality makes this a great piece of work - you should be rightly proud of this mate.

Man I wish I lived closer to you so I could get in a game with you and your system.
Really looking great with the paint. Is it hard for the paint to cover the materials you are using?
We need an overhead shot of everything you have put together some day. That would put the amount of work you have done in perspective. Awsome.
No amount of planning will ever replace dumb luck.

Thanks all.
@Hubbabubba. Definitely needs to be grimey/lived in. Will be giving a wash but I'm still awaiting my order in the mail. Should just make some but paid for already. Been reading about weathering powders recently and am considering getting those also. Recommendations? Will also add a few pieces of equipment, trash, loose papers but awaiting closer to the end to do so when I can see things overall.

@miniman. Always welcome for a game should we get the chance. As for painting the materials I use (hardboard, cereal card, craft sticks, bamboo skewers, etc)  it's actually no problem. My trick is I prime everything with a coat of spray primer - I mostly use Krylon Fusion. That seals the wood and avoids those supposed issues with the gallons of paint needed and soaking into the wood. Two coats is usually all that is needed. I mostly use Liquitex student paints as they are fairly thick and somewhat smooth out any wood grain, as well as ordinary craft paints. The only problem were pieces I had primed black ( ran out of white) which I decided to paint white - those took quite a few coats to cover.  Will get an overview shot once the basement is cleaned up a bit - there's no room at the moment.

Cheers

I have to agree with the Commander. You are the King of the Aliens Projects on LAF, and that's saying something with this group.

Now how is the exterior part of the project going?   >:D

Thanks all.
@Michka Didn't see your question earlier. The exterior bits are still WIP. I take down a piece now and then to work on it but concentrating on the interior at the moment and rethinking how this will fit with the outside of the colony. Thinking on sourcing some vehicles soon, or building some.

@Naitsirk. Thanks. Been following your blog too(Thank you Google translate) and it is quite impressive...beautiful graphics and game play looks fun.

Still adding pieces slowly but steadily. Been working on other projects also to avoid burnout.  Two new rooms. Most rooms will be "clean" vs the grungy corridors but some plug in scenery will have wrecked/dirty rooms.

An end corridor room, a two door room, and a locker module. The decor modules will fit most rooms so I can switch room function around to maximize play options.

The room with the lockers in place.

An example of how they can fit together creating a mini airlock.

Cheers
