Joining the "true 25mm" classics formerly sold by Richard Houston and The London War Room, the Abyssinian Warriors of their Emperor Tewodros ("Theodore") are now available once again from The (Virtual) Armchair General.

Sold in pre-sorted and equipped bags of 25 figures of Lower and Upper Class Warriors, plus the Royal Bodyguards, it is now as simple as a few keyboard clicks to represent this remarkable Christian Army in a sea of Muslim enemies for your Colonial War Games.

Though specifically representing the forces in support of Theodore in his mad and ironic war with Great Britain in 1868 (the subject of George MacDonald Frazier's last entry in chronicles of his creation, "Flashman On The March"), this same army fought a bitter war with the Khalifa's Ansar--an altogether new use for your Mahdist Wars figures!

The "Mad King Theodore" page at TVAG also includes portions of this army's organizational and other data first appearing in "The Sun Never Sets," the Campaign Game system for "The Sword And The Flame."  Additional Abyssinian Army data for games is inexpensively available upon request. The bags of figures on hand are based on this information, making collecting and organizing this army as simple as possible.

And at about $1.25 per figure, the price cannot be beat!
Photos of bag contents and more information may be found by following this link: http://www.thevirtualarmchairgeneral.com/406-Mad%20King%20Theodore.htm

Once again, now that these figures are back, and as their original sculptor is the Casting Master, look for some additions to this range!  For example, all we need to do is provide the proper bolt action rifles, and these same figures (plus a few more, perhaps) can go on to show their stuff against the Italians just 20 years later!

Any chance that these match up with Scrubys or Jacklex, etc?
