Good vs. Evil tabletop gaming - new minis 27/12
« on: June 28, 2013, 11:55:19 AM »
Hello everybody!

First time poster, long time voyeur - I enjoy all your paint stuff and modelling and want to share my own. I'm not the most productive painter but I have fun and drink beer when painting so once in a while I finish a miniature :)

Recently, I acquired some dwarves off a Danish forum, didn't know their origin but quickly found out they are from Grandma Wendys pavillion of insanely prices obscurities. Nevertheless, I thunk the sculpts looked appealing and decided to keep them rather than chucking them on eBay.

Here's the first test model. After priming and basing, it took me 30-40 minutes and half a bottle of pilsner.

The wee boys on the right hand side is the Grand Warlord Skendarbeg the Mad of my EA Squat army.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Thomas

Nice. I know the feeling that just finishing a single miniature brings! I like the basing too, hope to see more.

Welcome to the Lead Asyl-err, sorry, I meant Lead Adventure Forum.  Slight slip of the keyboard.

And a fine way to introduce yourself; I never get tired of the stunties.

Nice to see you here Thomas. Will this mean that we will see more of your painting and terrain skillz?

Very nice indeed. I agree with you that the GW lord of the rings dwarves are rather nice sculpts. Not like most companies, which tend to be chunky and solid.

Thank you for the warm welcome, guys! Realy appreciate it! I try my best to post regularly.

Indeed Frede, despite evil rumours in the western Bad Lands I do paint and occasionally finish stuff, mostly terrain though :) And epic minis of course...

Nice work Thomas and welcoem to LAF! Good to see the danish invasion continuing ;)

Cheers Dunc, my baby son turned 2 months today so I take this invasion business very serious ;) Sadly I'm unable to go to Åcon, but hopefully I'll be able to swing by Horisont again this year...

Nice. I know the feeling that just finishing a single miniature brings! I like the basing too, hope to see more.

Thanks! The base actually is only partially finished, lacking flock and some washes. I always paint up the dirt to make the whole mini feel more complete while painting, that and zenith highlight brings the mini more to life and helps you define the details and choosing colours. Also this mini is my first attempt with Clear Orange which really brought it together. I'll post more pics when I paint the shield and finish the base.

I realized I posted a before orange wash picture so you get this action packed sequence below. Yesterday I flocked the base and today I added a shield which will be painted shortly, perhaps already tomorrow.

Cheers,
Thomas
