LoTR on a Budget - Update
« on: June 28, 2013, 12:34:08 PM »
Following my recent success with the WFB on a budget project I thought I'd try my hand at another Fantasy game that interests me (seeing as WFB is now broken!).

So I've been begging, grovelling and basically kissing a** to gather together as much GW LoTR models as possible, mainly because I like the style of both the films and the game. I'm recording my trials and tribulations of this project on my blog if you want to pop on over and have a look however here's a WIP pic of Gandalf (plastic) who still needs a little attention and also a nice view of my haul so far (396 models for £31).

Honourable mention goes to Joe5mc and Just John of this forum for some very gentlemanly trading, thanks guys!

I love projects like that. That way you know when it's done, you have some  control over the amount of moeny you are spending and you basically know exactly where you are going. Unfortunately as much as I admire that attitude and this way of doing things I have the tendency to add all kinds of things to the project and usually end up finding no finish to it.

You seem to be off to a good start though. Keep posting pics.  :D

For free rules, take a look at FUBAR Medieval LOTR.

Cheers Joroas I'll have a peruse through, not realised they were there. I've only recently discovered the Forge of War Development Group after delving into IHMN.

@Doomhippie - I've loads of constantly expanding projects that never get finished which is why I've decided to run one with a start and end and some kind of recording discipline. There'll be more pics never fear.

Good luck with the project!
