Nearly missed that one. An excellent figure with an expert paintjob. The lion skin looks spot on in particular.
May I ask, though, why you're going for the Thirtieth? Any special connection there?

I hope it's a reason to paint "XXX" on stuff and pretend it's poison ;)
But I assume that the Prof have a more well-thought plan :)

I was looking for an EIR legion fighting both Dacians and Germans. And I liked the name. And how XXX would look on a shield. And several other reasons I can't remember :)

Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus, Consul Sine Collega, 52 BC

After the dead of Crassus in the Parthian Campaign of 53 BC and because Caesar was still notably absent from Rome due to his conquer of Gaul, Pompey had been designated as consul sine collega (consul without colleague) at the end of February of 52 BC.Looking at Pompey’s famous portrait bust I’ve always imagined him as a corpulent man and after getting that Foundry Roman noble mini I just had to think of Pompey. A civil version of him.

Some great "character" mini's, Alex!

You are putting together a superb collection. I especially like all the civilian miniatures.
