Ok some pictures of the beast. The brand is Diapet and underneath it it bears the legend 'Yonezawa Toys' I've taken some snaps with some Eureka 28mm guerillas, Some diecast 1/50 ish T-55s and a Warlord 1/56 Plastic T-34 for scaling purposes.

Excuse the quality, did it on the iPad.

By itself. If you look closely the toy nature of the vehicle is revealed. The hatch swings back. Orginally it was connected to a mechanism whereby, when the tracks were rotated, a plastic commander bobbed up an down like a jack in the box. Weirdly Japanese.

Bearing in mind that the figures are slightly raised by their bases, it looks about as good a match as you are likely to get.  :)

Carlos thanks for the pictures....that would do nicely now to try and find one...after seeing it..I went to search lots of construction equipment and vintage items but no tank...so can you tell if it was a vintage toy or something still being offered? There were no offerings here at all :'( after you got yours have you seen it offered again and where? And as our friend arlequin put it will I have to part with one of my fair haired children to pay for it lol.
Yes arlequin you are right I too don't game with a lot of tanks tend to stay more to the adv side or soft skin however we had a romping good last stand battle with a detachment of paras vs an armored thrust, over a river crossing in my musorian campaign...it was great may do it again with pictures this time.
Again your point on varients stands on its own almost every known modern producer has a technical but not a single crew cab hilux in the bunch I would easily do six of these..but sadly none exist except for die cast and as crazy as I am I along pay 65 dollars plus shipping for a toy. Thanks again Carlos now I need to find that beast!
D..

I have to agree - though at the end of the day, if stuff doesn't sell, it doesn't sell.  I am shocked at the lack of decent lines of vehicles for modern skirmishes.  I don't mean tanks, I just mean suitable trucks, vehicles, light armored vehicles, etc.  Really pretty tough to find.  It has put me off gaming moderns for quite some time.  Then someone releases a nice kit but it's $65-70 in resin...and I refuse to pay that for a simple vehicle.

Thanks for the pictures, funny comment on the Japanese toys... by the way the T-34/85 is impressive.
