Minty was sculpted by Kev White (of Hasslefree).

I was very lucky that Kev agreed to sculpt the Assault troopers for my space opera type project, as he is a great sculptor and a decent bloke to boot.

Saw Warlord at Bovington today and raised the question.  Feedback is that currently this is simply a production partnership. Bit given their success with multi-part plastic kits prehaps sone of what's missing from the range might be easier to develop.

Wasn't 100% sure if it was Kev, yeah he is great.

Yeah from the announcement I had a feeling it was just going to be production. Sure enough though can't hurt to have closer ties between these companies. I'm not that knowledgable about Warlord's plastics but the handful of metal minis I've bought from them have been pretty nice.

Warlord newsletter is out with the first releases. £30 for an eight figure box set and £5 for individual figures...

It is a considerable price hike, looks to be 20%+ for boxes and 25%+ for individuals. Then again, I'm not sure if £3.75 for a metal mini (that's what it comes to in the new Justice Department box) is all that bad these days -- people are paying something like £2.40 or more for plastics after all.

That's double what I think a metal mini is worth.

Guess I've been away from GW too long, and enjoying the value holiday in historicals.

I was very keen on this when it was announced, I'm completely out now. Except that I might get more from Foundry instead!

Considering Mongoose raised prices a while ago - a second jump so soon is really not "customer friendly".

And while £30 for an 8 miniature set is fine IMHO, I think £5 for a single miniature is taking the p**s - that pricing structure might kill it.

Someone "over there" mentioned the box sets pricewise are the same as was recently at Mongoose, so it looks like no double-rise. Still, very expensive in the boxes, and you're right - obscene individually!  :o
