This is the first Roman Marine I have finished (Aventine Miniatures EIR Legionarie). I'll use a group of Roman Marines as Ludus Guards.

Love it, my favourite bits are the bronze areas the wooden staff but most of all that shield.

Thank you!! I'm happy that you like him. I'll finish some more soon. I'm very happy with these Aventine miniatures and there are a lot of different poses, so I can mix them to make a good guard group for the ludus (I need a name for it!!).

I have seen that you have used an octopus too in one of your gladiators!! It's fantastic!!

wonderful paintwork, I may have to steal the shield artwork if you don't mind :)
Please feel free as I didn't invent the octopus!! ;D ;) I'll paint variations of that shield on the different models.
